Home Sweet Home...

....well almost, Detroit anyway, but closer to home than I was 12 hours ago!! What a long day. The flight from Barcelona to Atlanta was 9.5 hours long. After a 2.5 hour layover, we were finally on our way to Detroit. Barcelona is a 6 hour time difference and we have not slept for over 24 hours. We had a great couple of days, relaxed, shopped, spent time on the Mediterranean beach and spent one afternoon touring Barcelona. Barcelona by far is one of my favorite cities. We walked all the way up and down the towers (400 or some steps) of the Sangrada Familia Cathedral. This particular landmark was is a work in progress. Antonio Gaudi started this project in 1892 and if expected to be completed in 2040. The detail explains why this is taking so long.
Check back soon. I'll have pics of the World Championships, our team and some vacation shots up on the site within a week or so along with scanned copies of all my archived magazines I've been featured in.
XOXO

Final Placings

Hello, good news and bad news. Bad news is I did not make it to the finals on Sunday. The good news is I did way better than I ever imagined and ended up placing 6th. Just two points out of 5th. Considering the competition as a heavyweight competitor, I am very pleased. Thank you all for the positive support and good luck wishes!!! Your support and love mean the world to me!!

I just said good-bye to my Dad, Jill and the rest of the Team USA. The time has come to relax and enjoy time with Abdul for a few days.

Many, many hugs and love from Spain!!!

Saturday´s Pre-judge

Hello from Spain!!! Just a quick update on how things went on Saturday. 11 in my heavyweight class. I was called out third in the first call-out. It is very different here at the World Championships. Each judge has the opportunity to call out 5 competitors. So, I think there may have been 8, maybe 9 callouts. I believe I was in 4 of those callouts. Tomorrow, only the top five get to see the stage for a judged music routine. I´m thinking I can be anywhere from 3rd to 8th, we shall see. I´ll post another update tomorrow, after our team photo shoot!!

Arrived Safely

We arrived safely in Barcelona and everything is going well. We were able to track down my Dad and Jill, they are fine and doing well. Enjoying Santa Susanna as well as we are. Its Friday afternoon and just resting and preparing for the big day. As always, its beautiful here. I´ll give another update after Saturday´s pre judge.

Barcelona!!

Just days out from the I.F.B.B. World Championships. I'm very excited and most of all still healthly! I'm right on target and ready to see the stage for the first time out there as a heavyweight. I plan on updating this blog while out in Spain.....so keep checking for updates. Remember, I will be 7 hours ahead of central time. So by noon on Saturday the 24th, I should have some contest updates posted.

P.S. - Congratulations to my former Team USA member, Vicki Nixon, who placed 7th at her first pro show.

Guest posing in Belleville, MI

What a fun time doing my first guest posing appearance. Special thanks to Therese, Belinda & John Simmons for having me and promoting a good show. Seeing first hand now what hard work goes into organizing a competition like this, kudos to you all!! The evening show was kicked off with a creative "strong man" demonstration performed by The Thing of the Fantastic Four ;) Good job lifting those Atlas Stones!! I had the opportunity to met some really nice folks that came out to watch or root for their favorite competitor. It was a pleasure meeting one of my favorite fans, Christopher Brown, aka "CBDetroit". His support and enthusiasm for female bodybuilding is unbelievable. A real charmer, we need more fans like him!!! Go Lions!!!

I'm still focused and getting very excited for the World Championships in Spain. We leave on Wednesday the 21st. Just a couple more days of working out hard, dieting and making sure to get enough rest and stay healthy.

Feedback/comments regarding a few changes to my site would be appreciated. Make sure to check out the few new links I've added as well. Mostly dear friends and fellow competitors that have great websites worth checking out!

;)
