Vacation....Family, Friends & loads of fun!!

Home safe and well rested!! I just returned home from a week down in Florida. After arriving in Ft. Lauderdale, I drove to a small area called Sunny Isles, just a few miles outside of fabulous South Beach. I had a beautiful ocean front room. A view one could never get tired of. Working on my tan was my first priority, which I achieved. I spent my first full day visiting my Uncle Butch and his friend Marsha in Bonita Springs and the Ft Myers area. Just a couple hours driving on Alligator Alley heading west with the top down!! Visiting him was way overdue, I hadn't seen him in years since his move out of "the region". I had a blast and a few too many rum runners. Another great area to re-visit next time I'm in Florida. Besides doing too much shopping, eating and walking around the South Beach area, the highlight of the trip was a deep sea fishing trip I chartered on Thursday morning. I arrived at 8:00 a.m. and found out I was the only female on this trip, which I suspected. Everybody was real nice, including Adam and Sean who were the captains of "Therapy IV". Just as we were about to give up and head back, I got a hit and worked about 45 minutes pulling up a 9 foot, 300 lb golden hammerhead shark. What a rush, but a lot of work, I never in my wildest dreams thought I could do something like this. I even have the blisters on my hand to prove it.....along with some great pictures I posted above. I never gave up and it was pure adrenaline once I saw the fin come out of the water. Once he hit, he took off about the length of a football field. I asked if we could stop it and was told no.....I guess at the time I didn't realize it was 300 lbs!! I've already named him "Doc", since the name of the boat was Therapy.....get it?? Anyway, it looks like he will be the newest addition to my "trophy room". A very large and expensive one, but a once in a lifetime chance with a memory I'll have forever.

What a souvenir, huh?
