Master's Nationals

3rd Place!!!
As most of you know, I decided to go back to Pittsburgh and do the Master's Nationals. Gary Udit does a wonderful job promoting this show. This year, over 300 competitors traveled to Pittsburgh's Station Square. The big move for me this year was to go in as a light-heavy. Dieting down to make middle weights this year seem unobtainable. I had way to good of a off-season to pull that off again this year. After the announment of this show being a pro qualifier, the competition was fierce. Robin Parker who was also a light-heavy, went on and took the overall. Congratulations to Robin.
On a personal note, I want to thank Abdul for a wonderful weekend. Thank you for being patient and going one night without the air conditioning on. Also, my Dad and Jill for thier support. It seemed as though they enjoyed the Station Square area and had the opportunity to do some sight seeing. Jim Hemminger also deserves a special thank you for his time spent on helping me prepare for the Master's Nationals and the Team Universe. I had the opportunity to spend time with my friend Tracey and even helped Steve at the Champion Nutrition display. All in all, this was a wonderful weekend. Now it is time to get back on schedule. I'm looking forward to the Team Universe in NY. I've got 10 days to make a few changes and come in a bit tighter. Until next time....

Pittsburgh or Bust!

Contest week.....finally! If I make it through tomorrow, the rest should be all downhill! I must say, I feel as though I have been thrown some "pitfalls" this week and somebody upstairs is putting me up to a challenge! Not one, but two automobiles that I depend on failed and are in the shop.... Brutally busy at work the last week, throat infection and 6 months of injury free training and I slightly pull my groin the other day on a final workout. Other than that, all is well :)

After a phone conversation with a girlfriend today, the above issues were all put into perspective and I realized not a big deal at all. Lori's new baby, Aubrey Elise is still hospitalized one week after delivery and no word yet on when she will be coming home. She is improving day by day and headed in a "healthly" direction. Even though I'm not a Mother, I still can't imagine leaving the hospital without my baby. My thoughts and prayers go out to Lori, Walt and Aubrey.

This weekend in Pittsburgh is all about fun. No matter how I place, I know that I've done my very best and that is all that counts. I'm looking forward to spending time with family and friends. I'm grateful for all the constant love, support and patience I receive daily from each and every one of you!

XOXO
