2006 Mid-Illinois

Two winners in my book!!! Congratulations to both Eboni and Joe for their exceptional placings at the Mid-Illinois.
For starters, I would like to mention that this is the largest novice bodybuilding competition in the nation, with over 150 competitors, what a turn out!
Joe Myers - after a grueling day on Friday and finally making his middle weight class, weighed in at 168 lbs(very generous scales). Joe made some dynamic changes this last month. I must say, he really surprised me, especially after admitting to eating macaroni and cheese at 4 weeks out. Unfortunately, Joe was in the largest weight class since sometime in the mid 80's they announced. 27 middle weight competitors, so glad I wasn't judging!! Joe was called out in the first group of competitors and then posed his ass off for the second group. His posing practice paid off!! After speaking to a judge, I found out that Joe placed 10th. I was very pleased with that considering the size of his class and the fact that the overall winner came from his class as well. Bodybuilding is all about personal goals and accomplishments.....you have no control over who shows up and how many your up against! From what I remember of Joe last year....I'm thinking his achievements went above and beyond! Joe's motivation and enthusiasm made him a peach to work with. Congratulations Joe!

Eboni Wilson - What can I say? I knew Eboni had it in him a year ago when we met. Another gem to work with. Dedicated and so positive....anybody who travels like he does for work, along with eating and training for a show deserves the #1 spot he got!!! I think the love and support at home from his beautiful wife Eva is another bonus as well. What a tough class....9 total in the heavyweights all exceptional competitors. Don't be surprised if you see Eboni on a National level stage in the very near future! Congratulations Eboni!!

It was so nice to catch up with friends (new and old) and fellow competitors! Thank you everybody for making my day complete. You are all a blessing!

Enjoy the pictures!!
